Frank Wiese
Frank Wiese just might be one of pokers best kept secrets. He is an accomplished cash game and tournament player from the Chicago area. Amazingly enough what Frank reveals in this book may cause shock and fearfulness. By purchasing this book, you have just taken a very important step in expanding your poker skills.
This book will show you a completely new, uniquely developed type of poker. Wiese coined the brilliant concepts outlined in this book “medium ball.” They are designed for today’s No Limit Texas Hold’em. Inside there you’ll find valuable information inside covering a range of topics from some of the finest poker rooms in the United States to table image.
Table image appears to be the least covered of all topics in most poker books, yet Wiese feels it to be one of the most important. A great player must have the perfect facade (basically an image of deception). You want to be thought of as pathetic and weak, when you’re actually brilliantly strong. In addition, when you’re pilfering blinds and taking stabs at small pots, you want the other players to think you’re strong and fold their winning hand.
This book will teach you how to make the sharks of the poker world look at you and see a tiny little bait fish, only to realize their mistake too late. Dozens of various poker books claim to be the ultimate guide to refining your poker skills but many are incomplete. This misleads many amateurs down a dismal path of disaster. This book has done a great job at filling in the gaps that others left out.
Poker is not a game of luck! It is actually the ultimate game of skill. This book is for players of all skill levels; written by an accomplished poker player and strategist who will help you to see the game through the eyes of a hunter. The lessons discussed inside will significantly improve your poker game and prepare you to contend with professional poker players on their level.
If you apply the techniques discussed in this book towards your current poker game, rest assured you will begin to “Eat Professional Poker Players Alive!” This drastic refinement will turn you into a shark’s worst nightmare, something I like to refer to as “a fisherman!” Please continue reading for further clarification.
I would like to thank the following professional poker players: Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Erick Lindgren, Doyle Brunson, Joe Hachem, David Sklansky, Collin Moshman, Hevad Khan and Jerry Yang.
Without having these players to watch for strategies or their poker books to read, I would not be the poker player I am today. In this book, these nine players are revered with utmost respect. Someday, I hope to take all of them “Head’s up.” Having to decipher each of these players’ ideas and strategies was a complex and time-consuming mission of mine. The end result has improved my game in 5 years, what would take most players over 20 years to pull off.
By using the methods in this book, you will limit your risk and encourage an aggressive play style and increase your wins at all forms of Hold’em. Smart, aggressive play has been proven successful since the discovery of NL Texas Hold’em. This type of play allows you to build your chip stack, which will help make you the “person in charge” and wins tournaments time and time again.
Once you have mastered the Fish: Beginner strategy, you will become a serious threat to most of the players you meet and play against today. These ideas come from the fact that many beginners use an aggressive pre-flop strategy similar to what they see on TV watching the WSOP and WPT tournaments in early rounds. By going “all-in” the majority of time, their success is short term. They have no idea how to play poker after the flop. The Fish: Beginner strategy works well against these types of players. You should achieve greater success in tournaments by applying it.
After you’ve mastered the Fish, (or have gotten bored with it) you’re ready to take on the challenge of the Barracuda: Intermediate strategy. This will give you great insight on what it takes to make it to the final table and be “in the money” (ITM) consistently. Obviously, this book will not be read and digested quickly. It may take several readings to grasp and follow the dynamic formulas that are exposed here. Many years of thought and effort went into crafting this book. Leaks in your poker game will not have a chance after following these simple ideas and formulas.
Once you get to the Shark: Advanced strategy, I am positive you will be amazed by all the advanced insights that are shown here. Hopefully it will lead you along the path to becoming a poker world champion.
Before jumping to the more advanced Shark strategy, I strongly recommend that you read about the Fish and Barracuda strategies. If not, you risk drowning in this ocean of poker knowledge and you may get lost at sea. So start slowly and let me teach you how to swim. Soon, my young and sometimes older fishermen, you will be “Eating Professional Poker Players Alive!”
